Today I start looking at ranking Richard Tidwell for keywords in the domain name. When I started this yesterday I did not have any posts and the name had been dormant for several months without a site attached. I put up the site using WordPress and just 3 plugins and a template that will be mentioned later.
As I started the process of setting up the site I noticed that it immediately jumped to page 3 of Google when searching for Richard Tidwell at the top of the page. I looked at it this morning and it had moved onto page 2 slot 8 or 18th place vs 21 the day before so now this is my first post of the day and we will watch what happens in the morning. It will take a few days for it to settle out on the right page but I am confident it will just keep moving up.
I have also started a test with another domain called Anik Is Awesome and am making sure this is not a fluke. I started it Sunday night at 5:00 with a brand new registered domain. My Richard Tidwell domain was registered in 2004 so I expect it to move to #1 pretty quickly even with the competition level at 2.68 million in Google but I never expected Anik Is Awesome to move to number 1 over night even though it was up against 248,000 other sites but it did.
